Hello folks, all attempts to capture sound from my Hauppauge Nova S-Plus TV card did fail with an Input/Output error: $ arecord -f dat -D hw:1,0 /tmp/t.wav Recording WAVE '/tmp/t.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 48000 Hz, Stereo arecord: pcm_read:1349: read error: Input/output error Does anyone have an idea whether this is a config problem, a driver bug or a hardware failure? What can I do to investigate this in more detail? Any hint will be of great help. I have a debian box with an on-board sound card and the mentioned digital TV tuner card with audio input. TV playback works well, and on-board audio card also works well for playback as well as for recording.
