someone correct me, if this is wrong, but converting from 16bit int to
24bit int shoudln't do any harm to the number. it basically just appends
eight zeros.
one frame 16bit:
0101110100110011
the same frame in 24bit:
010111010011001100000000
so, if the source data (cd, audiofile) is 16bit, there is no reason to
believe, that the critical information is altered when played with a
framesize of 24bit.
