Hello, I got a combined USB-Serial Serial-MIDI device, it has midi connectors on one side, and USB on the other. Its brand is "Prelude Interface MIDI USB", seems to be brazilian-developed, in windows it uses 2 drivers, and USB-Serial, and a generic Roland MIDI Serial driver. It is detected as as USB-Serial FTDI device, I looked at the serial MIDI driver, but it seems to only work with physical serial ports (it requires an ioport, which I don't think USB-Serial devices have). Is there any way to make it work. # lsusb Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0403:6001 Future Technology Devices International, Ltd FT232 USB-Serial (UART) IC # dmesg [ 594.294411] usb 1-5: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 4 [ 594.484471] usb 1-5: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice [ 596.071074] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial [ 596.071200] /build/buildd/linux-2.6.24/drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial support registered for generic [ 596.071372] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial_generic [ 596.071375] /build/buildd/linux-2.6.24/drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial Driver core [ 596.089787] /build/buildd/linux-2.6.24/drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial support registered for FTDI USB Serial Device [ 596.089824] ftdi_sio 1-5:1.0: FTDI USB Serial Device converter detected [ 596.089878] /build/buildd/linux-2.6.24/drivers/usb/serial/ftdi_sio.c: Detected FT232RL [ 596.089965] usb 1-5: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now attached to ttyUSB0 [ 596.090006] usbcore: registered new interface driver ftdi_sio [ 596.090010] /build/buildd/linux-2.6.24/drivers/usb/serial/ftdi_sio.c: v1.4.3:USB FTDI Serial Converters Driver ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
