i didn't write that! possibly you didn't read the subject. there isn't
more i can tell you because, as said, there are no differences in the
outputs of the two systems except that on the new system the soundcards
aren't found by the tools and apps because snd_ctl_open fails. that's
it. this seems to be related to detecting the drivers. i'm not shure
but shouldn't there be a /dev/dsp? what else should be in /dev?
