hello i know this problem from earlier alsa-releases and wanted to ask if you are already working on it or if i have to further investigate. generally, installing the next linux release helped. however, linux 2.6.25.1 doesn't change the picture. the problem appears on a fresh x86_64 system but on the same PC as my old x86_32 system. the configuration is fully the same; only i use 1.0.16 on 64bit and 1.0.14 on 32bit. however, the cards (audigy4 bulk, VIA onboard) are detected fine at boot, and the syslog doesn't show any anomalities. the rest of the system is based on newest packages, like glibc 2.7 and gcc 4.3.0. many thanks, dennis ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event.
