Anyone using Fedora 8, snd-intel8x0 and have a working mic?

People,

Having another go at getting this to work:

- pulse audio is uninstalled

- I can play music, videos etc no problem

- when I talk into the mic, I can hear the output on the speakers

but:

arecord -d 10 -f cd -t wav -D hw:0 foobar.wav

gives me:

Recording WAVE 'foobar.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100
Hz, Stereo
Warning: rate is not accurate (requested = 44100Hz, got = 48000Hz)
         please, try the plug plugin
arecord: pcm_read:1347: read error: Input/output error

and I get a 44 byte foobar.wav file.

So of course things like Skype don't work either . .

Any ideas? Should I just wait for F9 and try again then?

Thanks,

Phil.
