Re: Problems with hda-intel after updating kernel

Ubuntu has a special snd-hda-intel module in
/lib/modules/2.6.22-14-generic/ubuntu/media/snd-hda-intel. This module
references are being mixed with the ones of the module you compiled.
If you look carefully in the error messages in dmesg, you can see the
confusion between the 2 modules.

This module has to to be removed or renamed in order to have the
depmod execution not mix this module references with the ones you
compiled from alsa 1.0.15 or hg version.

See Method D: Variant of method B. Suggestion of hand editing the
modules.dep file can be cleanly replaced by running depmod again after
taking Ubuntu module out of the way or running make install again.
