Otherwise, it is much better sound cards like m-audio or RME hammerfall (lookat the sound card matrix on the alsa website to see which ones are supported byalsa). I also think that it would be better to use jack with them if you wantto do serious audio work. The m-audio and hammerfall can be synchronized if you need precise timing, whenit is not possible to synchronize any consumer grade sound card without tomodify the hardware clock of those cards.
