Otherwise a new soundcard it is then. Is ac3 pass through supported on other Audigy models e.g. Audigy 2 ZS, Audigy 4 Pro etc? Or maybe another card, M-Audio Audiophile 2496? I have an AC97 intel8x0 based card onboard with digital out, so I think I'll give that a try in the mean time.
