I have no solution, but I can confirm Steffen's observation.  Many people have
tried to get sound working with ubuntu/feisty and the new santa rosa macbook pro
and have failed.  Their details are at:

I hope the alsa fix for this will be relatively easy.  As anyone reading the
alsa list would agree, having sound is kind of important!  Steffen's message
(found in gmane) was nice enough to include the lspci details.  Maybe the fix
can use it as a starting point.
