  add the following to /etc/rc.local

amixer set 'Input Source' 'Line'
amixer set 'Input Source' 'Mic'

  it sets the input to from mic to line then back to mic. Reboot.
  That seems to do the trick for me. You have to run tihs
  code every time you restart alsa. Of course you can do
  it manually in alsamixer, but after a while the fun winds
  off.
