This is of course getting rediculous. OK, I will accept that it is a "Linux problem", just as it is a Linux problem that many winmodems do not work under Linux because of the manufacturers give no information of how to make their winmodems work. However that helps noone whatsoever. It does not tell anyone where to look to solve the bug. I suspect strongly that it is a hardware bug. As such, it is going to depend crucially on how widespread this hardware bug is. If it restricted to this one person or 5 people in the world, then the chances of a workaround being developed around this hardware bug is small. If it affects many people the chances are higher.
