Problem with RME Digi32/8 /kubuntu edgy

Hello everybody,

I'm currently trying to configure my old/new Digi 32/8. Put in the card
and the booted the PC. The card is recognized and I have options to
select Input Connector (optical, coaxial, internal), Loopback Input (On,
Off) and Sample Clock Source (Auto Sync, 32khz, 44.1khz, 48khz).

However, there seems to be no output available. A cat for the card puts
out this:
cat /proc/asound/card0/rme32
RME Digi32/8 (Rev. 100) at 0xe2000000, irq 201 (index #1)

General settings
  Half-duplex mode
  receiver: CS8412
  format: 16 bit, Stereo

Input settings
  input: optical (2 channels)
  sample rate: 44100 Hz

Output settings
  output signal: normal playback (muted)
  sample rate: 44100 Hz
  sample clock source: Internal
  format: IEC958 (consumer)
  emphasis: off

So it seems muted, but how can I configure this? Has anybody got some
experiences with this?

best regards,
David Deutsch
