I have the following configuration:

Just installed the 14rc2, as my sound card never worked with the shipped version or the new 13 version. configured, and make, some errors, (for dulplicate definitions, fixed them, and then more errors about the ac97 driver, so used the --with-cards=hda-intel, which compiled successfully, then make install, and that was ok too.
Now, when trying to use alsaconf or alsamixer,
alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such device
alsaconf:
No supported PnP or PCI card found !
so somewhere, the driver is not found, which I need to hack and try to load it in the kernel.
I did install the libraries too afterwards, but still no luck.
I would appreciate any help here...
