Hello,

I'm having trouble with a softphone and this card made by VIA. I can
hear sound clear, but mic sounds distorted and attenuated (i.e. low
volume and noisy). So, when I call someone, I can hear him OK but he
hears me noisy and low.

Softphones connect to my own Asterisk box, and I'm only having
problems with Thin clients (LTSP) with this card.

I have ALSA and OSS emulation working, and I think it could be a
soundcard driver issue, but don't know how to troubleshoot it. ALSA
drivers are those that come with linux kernel 2.6.17 (how can I know
ALSA version?).

Should I recompile newest ALSA drivers and see if work better? Anyone
else with this mic-not-working-properly problem?

Thanks in advance.
