I tried using a multi+ttable setup in my .asoundrc, but I'm getting problems with just using C/D by itself, let alone together with A/B. Based on my reading I thought that hw:1,2 wasn't an actual audio device, but rather used by us428control to run the sliders, and the usx2y firmware loader to upload the firmware. When I use it with arecord -D hw:1,2 -c 4 the .wav file contains a dump of some kernel memory(!). jackd -d alsa -d hw:1,2 followed by qjackctl shows 4 input and 2 output ports, but when connecting input 3 to both outputs I hear no audio, and jackd dies after about 20 seconds. if I try to make it realtime, either with chrt or with jackd -R, the jackd watchdog kills jackd immediately. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? Okay, now for the good news: I unloaded the snd-usb-usx2y module, power cycled my US-428, used chrt to set the IRQ handler for my USB ports to SCHED_FIFO at priority 80, and with jackd and hw:1,2 I can use 2 64 frame periods for 2.67ms latency, better than I was getting with hw:1,0 and only two in/two out. I'd still like to be able to use arecord, though. Is using 1.0.11 alsa-utils with 1.0.14 drivers a problem?
