Hi Michael,

The two sets of inputs seem to be two separate devices for ALSA's
purposes, which means JACK cannot use both without help.

Try the parameter "-D hw:1,2" when launching jackd - this should
represent a pseudo-device created as a patch to jack (but now
incorporated into the release) and combining the two hardware input
devices (2 channels each) into one in software. You should be able to
start jackd with four inputs using this.

I'm afraid I don't know the implications of this for your own
development.
