USB cards, fxload and linux-headers 2.6.19

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi Chaps,

As far as I know, fxload is still required to initialise certain USB
cards, particularly the Tascam range using the usx2y driver.
Unfortunately, fxload seems to be currently unmaintained and no longer
compiles against linux-headers-2.6.19 which will eventually become
stable - as the new version becomes mainstream we won't be able to
compile the thing.

So, some questions:
(a) Am I wrong about the fxload requirement? Is there another way?
(b) Can an alternative be created by the ALSA developers?
(c) Should this go straight to the udev guys or someone else?

For further information, here is a bug in the gentoo bugzilla:

Regards,

Matt.
