Master volume doesn't affect rear speakers (SBLive 5.1)

Hello,

I have installed ALSA to my Debian box and have also 5.1 surround sound
over SB Live 5.1 Platinum. Anyway, I noticed that when changing the
master volume, it affects only my front speakers. Rear speakers must be
controlled individually over alsamixer. This is rather frustrating for
example with MPD that has its own volume control, but it modifies only
the master volume = front speakers.

Is it possible to "bind" also surround channels to master volume slider,
without losing the surround feature completely though?

Thanks,
Ville
