No sound in right channel for AD1988A

Hi,

I have a Asus P5B-V motherboard with an "ADI AD1988A 8-channel High
Definition Audio CODEC", but only the left channel works. I have
connected my speakers to the output marked "Front". From the motherboard
manual it also seems to be possible with 2, 4, 6 or 8-channel
configurations and the ports have different meanings depending on the
configuration. Maybe this is something I have to configure?

The only message from dmesg is this one:

hda_codec: Unknown model for AD1988, trying auto-probe from BIOS...

I use FC6 and Alsa version 1.0.14-0.1.rc1.

Any ideas on how to get sound in both channels?

Thanks
Per Thomas Jahr
