Remote XServer problem

Hi,

I'm having problems running the XServer remotely.

The set-up:
I have a web interface to a certain remote machine 'B'. When I click on
a link, a cgi perl script is launched that runs the GUI on the remote
machine 'B' and points it to a display on my local machine 'A'.

The problem:
When I run the script from the command line on machine 'B' by telnetting
into it, the GUI comes up fine on my local machine. However the browser
interface doesn't work. Now, machine 'A' runs Linux and has XFree86-4.3
installed. When I downgrade it to XFree86 4.2, the display comes up
correctly on my machine. However I need to use 4.3 due to certain
dependencies. The GUI dies without any error message or warning for 4.3

Is there some security setting that I'm missing. For 4.2 I run "xhost +"
on my local machine 'A' and stop my firewall and that is usually enough
for the remote XServer to work. I notice 4.3 uses xauth. I've tried
doing an xauth extract and merge. But that doesn't work either.

What's puzzling to me is the script running from the command line but
not through the browser for XFree86 4.3. Any ideas?

Regards,
Navneet
