After my computer boots, the screen and the keyboard flash off every few seconds, and then they flash back on. They are on while the computer is booting, but after that, I can't get them to stay on. Also, the startx (or xstart, whichever one it is) does not work, and I don't know why. This all started when the system gave me some error with graphical interface, and I ignored it.
