Hi: I have an x86 based PIII embedded system Single Board Computer (SBC) which has Timesys Linux with kernel version 2.4.21 with glibc21 running. I now want to have X installed on this computer. For that I have downloaded XFree86-4.0.1 because of compatibility reasons. I have tried installing it, but it always stops with the following sentence: Object format is 'ELF'. Normally, it should proceed beyond this point and install X completely. A snapshot of the konsole output is also appended below. Could someone help with a solution to install X on this system? Any pointers? What is that I'm doing wrong? TIA, Shireesh --------------- bash-2.05# ./Xinstall.bin Welcome to the XFree86 4.0.1 installer You are strongly advised to backup your existing XFree86 installation before proceeding. This includes the /usr/X11R6 and /etc/X11 directories. The installation process will overwrite existing files in those directories, and this may include some configuration files that may have been customised. Do you wish to continue?
