I also wanted to note that I have rebooted numerous times, each of which this happens again. The only thing I can think of that has changed is that I am using that other NIC I was reffering to, as of today. This weekend I wired cat5 underneath the house in an effort to not require the desktops to be linked via wifi. I can't think of any reason why X would interact with a NIC though.
