where's the FAQ?

i searched for xaw3d on the search page. results seem to have
come from the net as a whole. not what i wanted.

i found an xaw3d-1.5.tar.gz file on the net. and it does not
want to play nice with my xfree86 install.

1. where's the faq? or whatever there is that's specific to
the site.

2. what xaw3d should i use?

3. suppose i were to attempt to write configure.ac and Makefile.am
for a lot of the xfree86 tree? would such a move be welcomed or
jeered? i have access to solaris and red hat, so i'd need other
testers. i doubt i can do this, but i got started and it doesn't
seem altogether hopeless yet.
