For a "no devices found" error we need to know a couple things from the log file if you can't send the long file itself. 1) The XFree86 version. This will be near or at the top. Something like: XFree86 Version 4.4.0 2) Which graphics hardware you have. Assuming you don't already know this, the /var/log/XFree86.0.log will print out something like: (--) PCI:*(1:0:0) ??? chip name here ???? 3) Which driver you are using. In the /etc/X11/XF86Config file, or whichever config file the XFree86.0.log says it's using (eg. "(==) Using config file: ..."), what does it say on the line that looks like: Driver "drivername" Usually, a "no devices found" means that the driver you are using does not support the hardware you have, either because the driver is too old, or is the wrong driver. But there can be other reasons. Mark. On Mon, 22 Nov 2004, Richard wrote: > Good day, > > I am trying to install XFREE86 at debian on a compaq armada system.
