How to change screen resolution

Dear Friends,
I am unable to change mine screen resolution to 1024*468 i have tried using redhat-config-xfree86 and editing /etc/X11/XF86Config .One of mine friend asked for 'dmesg' report. I do not know much about it but i am sending you this. Perhaps this might help u helping me.

Please help me. I shall be very grateful. Thanks in advance for your time and effort.
