I am not an expert, but if the box you moved your hard-drive into has a 
different video card to that in the old box, then presumably you will have to 
change the XFree86 config to load the drivers for the new video card.

If you look at your log file, I believe you will find that your XFree86 config 
file is configured to use a S3 ViRGE video card, whereas your new box has an 
ATI Mach64 card.

If you don't know to modify the XFree86 config file by hand, then there are a 
number of configuration programs that can help.

The config file is configuring Screen0 to use an S3 ViRGE card, correct?

The hardware scan has located an ATI Mach64 video card, correct?
