I am having trouble enabling 3D accelration on my laptop with ATI Radeon Mobility M6.

System: Mandrake 10.0
Kernel: 2.6.8

When i run glxgears i get this error:
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0"

The framerate is only approx 200 fps and I suspect 3D accelration is not enabled. Any sugestions?

Try running at 16-bit color or a lower resolution. You don't have enough memory to get 3D at 1024x768x24-bit.
