Start X server without leaving current terminal

I wrote a script that looks for a server to get alive.
If that happens, the following command will be executed:

usr/X11R6/bin/X :1 -query $HOST vt08

Now the virtual terminal changes from my current vt07 to vt08 where gdm waits
for me to login on the server.

But I don't want that. So how can I prevent the X server from changing the virtual terminal ?
All this should be a background process without any notice to the user on the client.

Thanks for any help.
