Hello,
I loaded the realease 4.4.0 released on 29 February 2004.
Here is my configuration :
XFree86 4.4.0
PC : Laptop Toshiba Satellite, 650 Mhz,196 RAM, 6 GB HD
PC : Laptop Toshiba Satellite, 650 Mhz,196 RAM, 6 GB HD
Standard monitor : Digital Flat Panel 800X600
OS : Win2K Pro
OS : Win2K Pro
Virtual OS : Cygwin 1.5.10-3
When I loaded the binaries files on the XFree86 ftp site, I noticed it missed the files Xvar.tgz and Xmod.tgz. Are they really necessary ?
I tried to install XFree86 4.4.0, but I'm not sure that the installation is OK...
In fact, after the installation, I don't have the file :
XFree86 log file (/var/log/XFree86.0.log).
Furthermore, When I try to run "XFree86 -version" from my command line, the answer : is "command not find".
That's why I think XFree86 is not really installed on my system..
After the installation step I'll configure the X server.
Do you know some documents to do it in general and with cygwin in particular ?
Thanks
Nicolas
