Understood that right, but
gcc --version:
gcc (GCC) 3.3.1 (SuSE Linux)

and from make-world-log:
gcc -m32 -O2 -fno-strength-reduce -fno-strict-aliasing -ansi -Wall -Wpointer-arith -Wstrict-prototypes                    -Wmissing-prototypes -Wmiss
ing-declarations                          -Wredundant-decls -Wnested-externs -Wundef

Have to say that inbetween I had some font problems even with xf-4_4_99_3 (yast2 segfaulting).
So I refreshed all XFree relevant stuff from installation media and now I'm back on
xf-4_4_99_3 with no font problems.

Next time when I try cvs head I'll do that without font installing.
