SyncOnGreen for Sun 1662b fixed resolution monitor?

Which drivers and cards are capable of sync on green and what do I need to
achieve it?

I've put the ``Option "SyncOnGreen"'' in the Monitor section. Do I need a
separate csync option somewhere?

Browsing the source it seems not every driver implements this. I have a choice
of three graphics cards:

0000:02:0b.0 Display controller: Texas Instruments TVP4010 [Permedia] (rev 01)
0000:02:0a.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc 3D Rage I/II 215GT [Mach64 GT] (rev 41)
0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA G400 AGP (rev 04)

>From the source it looks like the only one that actually implements
SyncOnGreen is the MGA driver. That kind of sucks because I really don't want
to give up the good graphics card for my main monitor.

Is there any way to get sync on green using either of these other cards? Maybe
a jumper? What other inexpensive cards that I might find in a bargain bin are
capable of sync-on-green?

This is all to try and get a Sun 1662b monitor working. I think I have a few
reasonable modelines constructed from the available information on the net.
I'm not entirely clear how to allocate time between the sync pulse and front
and back porches though.

In case anyone else out there is curious, here are the modelines I have so far:

# 944×736 70.8kHz 84Hz 92.94MHz (The 1024x800@84 Overscan Mode user area is 944x736)
