I've tried to set 1024kB -- doesn't work. I've tried to set 2048 (which is more than my actual state) and screen overlaps itself (bottom part of screen is repeated at the top). But I think that driver must use some more memory than is needed for screen, and 800x600 at 16 bits takes most of other modes -- so maybe it lacks those few kilobytes.
