i have tried xinerama ..forgot to mention it before. And you said you have managed it with your nVidia card. This is the problem i know many people who havnt been able to do this and so have just gone out and bought a nVidia card, it seems nVidia is more compatible than ATI.
Unfortunatley i dont have the money to go out and buy another card
