It is possible, but since 1152x900 is not a mode defined by VESA, you need to provide your own modeline in XF86Config. You can use the 'gtf' utility to compute a mode line with the refresh rate that works best for your monitor.. Fo instance:


host% gtf 1152 900 76

# 1152x900 @ 76.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 71.44 kHz; pclk: 110.87 MHz
Modeline "1152x900_76.00" 110.87 1152 1224 1352 1552 900 901 904 940 -HSync +Vsync
