To Whom It May Concern:

Dear Sirs,

I just installed OpenBSD3.4 on my 2nd HD. It boots just fine. However, I am unable to get the X gui to work. Typing "startx" only gives me an error message.

I did look in /etc/sysctl.conf and the line: Machdep.AllowAparture=2 is there.

The instructions within tell me to send you the contents of "XFree86.0.log" so I include that, in total, here:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(- -) Check DevMem: using aperture driver /dev/x86
(- -) Using wscons driver in pcvt compatibility mode (version 3.32)

As this error log says it, you need to configure your X server first, to provide the configuration file (/etc/X11/XF86Config) that's missing.
OpenBSD ships with a /usr/X11R6/README file that contains instructions on how to do it.
