No I don't need the mouse, and my first thought was to get rid of all
references to mouse devices in the XF86Config file. No joy I'm afraid.
After doing a bit of googling I've been led to believe that the display
card takes some responsibility for displaying the mouse directly and
that forcing a "SWcursor" in the options of the display card might help.
This also didn't work. I would have thought that this was a fairly
straight forward thing to do - obviously I'm wrong.
