 The server is trying to open /etc/X11/XF86Config (may have -4 on end). 
This is the file that tells the server what chipset you have and what 
the monitor sync ranges are, among other things. Best bet is to run  
Redhat's X config tool. Failing that, you can try XFree86 -configure as 
root. This will load all video drivers, and see which one finds 
hardware it can support. It will then write an initial XF86Config file, 
which will probably need to be edited.

lspci should be able to tell you at least what company made your 
chipset. Look for something like the following:
03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon R350
[Radeon 9800]
03:00.1 Display controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon R350 [Radeon 
9800] (Secondary)
