Problems with openMosix

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi there,

I'm trying my hand at building an openMosix cluster with the RedHat Enterprise Edition and for some reason the new kernel can't load the Xserver when I boot with it. I've tried building a 'vanilla' kernel as well and even without the mosix patch it's caused the same problems with X, so I don't think it's a problem with the patch. However, it still loads fine when I boot from the original distribution kernel. I don't know much about the configuration process, so I've included the logfile and the config file below. I'm new to this so don't take anything for granted!

Here's the error message I get when the system attempts to start the graphical login screen:

	"I cannot start the X server (your graphical interface). It is
	likely that it is not set up correctly. Would you like to view
	the X server output to diagnose the problem?"

Then it gives me the first few lines of the logfile up until

"(==) Using config file: "/etc/X11/XF86Config""

and asks if I want to run the configuration tool. Then the whole process starts again.
