I write to you after finding this e-mail address at

I've been having this problem for a while and tried to find a solution to it but so far everything I've tried has been unsuccessful so I turn to you for help.
I have a Toshiba 1405-151S laptop which comes with the Trident CyberBlade XP graphics chipset. The problem arises when I try to watch video utilizing the Xv video driver for better performance. It doesn't matter whether I use Xine or Mplayer, they both do this. The first time I start playback wverything goes well, there is a small blue lining on the left side of the video window but besides that everything is well. If I now close that window and start another video almost always the whole computer crashes instantly with nothing but a green screen with blue lines across it. Sound usually freezes at this point and nothing I do, except unplugging the computer, helps.
If I change to xshm video driver performance is terrible but so far I've never experienced a crash. Also if I start a video using xshm before xv it always "resets" the situation and I can go on like this but it would be quite nice to know what the problem is and if it can be fixed.
Thank you in advance,
