Thanks. I will try it today.Rotate options in all drivers were broken by the RandR extension. You need to disable RandR with:
Option "RandR" "0"
in the Section "ServerFlags"

Then another question: is there any method to use xrandr to rotate screen. I've tried it with any grapchic adapter that was in my machine but it always says:
Possible rotations: normal.
So I was forced to try driver specific options and replace ATI by nVidia :(
BTW: vertical screen is great! It is very slow and it feels like you working over the serial link. But it so great at work so I do not think that I will need to switch back.
