Hello there... I'm new to Linux and I'm currently running Red Hat 8.0 3.2-7 (kernel 2.4.18-14smp) in combination with a version of KDE that is unknown to me (I don't know how to check my KDE version yet :-S). I'm running XFree86 4.2.1 and wantto upgrade it to 4.3.0 since this version supports the usage of the randr extension through xrandr (it seems that randr support will also be available in KDE 3.2 in the form of krandr, but that's probably not important at this point). Anyway, I do not have root access rights and I was wondering if it is still possible to update XFree and if so, how do I proceed? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Regards, Danny Holten. _______________________________________________ XFree86 mailing list XFree86@xxxxxxxxxxx http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
