X server crashed while update the XFree86 packages

RedHat Linux 9.0
XFree86 v 4.3.0
Linux v 2.4.20-18.9

The problem started after I ran my up2date to update lastest packages. When I reboot the sys, I got this message. "INIT: ID"X" respawning too fast. disable for 5 minutes".and go into the runlevel 3. so, I attempted to rerun the up2date on the command line, and I saw a message saying that "There was a rpm unpack error installing the package: coreutils-4.5.3-19.0.2".

Do you have any sugguestion to correct this problem.
Thank you.

Sincerely yours,

Matthew Yu
