Booting the system to level 3 with a Samsung 172T connected to a Matrox G450 MMS with DVI-D cable works OK; starting X on all 4 screens or just one also works fine; but terminating X leaves the screen displaying "Video mode not supported" and no display of typed characters. Blind typing 'startx' will restore X operation. Problem does not occur if a VGA (analogue) connection is used.
Looks like XFree must be told to save and correctly restore the state when it shuts down. Any ideas ?
