Yes...SuSE has support for the S315 3D chipset.  I just installed SuSE 8.2 and had no problem.
My card is S315 based.  I actually have an ECS K7SOM+ motherboard which comes with
the AGP video included on SiS's 740 chip.  This chip is a member of the S315 family, and
configures fine.  Also, you will want to go the following website :
 
 
This site contains the latest SiS drivers, ton's of info, a libxaa replacement and an excellent
utility called sisctrl.  It also contains clear install instructions and sample XF86Config files.
It is a must resource.

I want to buy a Sis 315 card, i seek in SuSE hardware database if they have support for this card, they says it has, but unknow for 3D support.
 
Is there a way to now if a car o chip set have 3D support in Xfree ???
