Hi Team,
I need help with starting X Server after
a successful Linux RedHat 8.0 install.
Please note, I have no troubles with the keyboard
& mouse devices (they both work fine via command line)
The problem is with starting the graphical
mode screen - init 5
System Info as follows:
IBM Netfinity 5k5 Server
with S3 Trio64V2 (1Mb) video adapter (this was probed correctly by
Xconfigurator
during install process)
Monitor: Viewsonic E70 (couldn't
be probed - I suspect use of a KVM Switch may be reason.
However, info relating to monitor
was manually provided during install process)
Xserver Message:
Module Loader Present
OS Kernel: Linux version 2.4.18-14 (bhcompile@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)

(EE) error: No Devices Detected
Fatal Server Error: no screens found
I have attached copy of the
/etc/X11/XF86Config file output (ie sections that may be
relevant)
I am new to Linux OS, but edting the XF86Config
file should be easy (if necessary).
