All replies to > edal@xxxxxxxxxxxx please. Such problems are usually caused by the BIOS performing some action on the screen that the driver is not aware of. The X server has some support for APM which might help, but I am not conversant with it. Alternatively, you could run apmd, or some such daemon, and configure it to issue `chvt` commands which would cause the X server to switch in and out of its virtual terminal when power management events occur.
