[XFree86] No APM because SMP under Linux

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

(WW) Open APM failed (/dev/apm_bios) (No such device)

Does the error above matter?

(My X appears to work fine.)

I have it:

  $ ls -l /dev/apm_bios
  crw-rw----    1 root     root      10, 134 Oct 24 16:59 /dev/apm_bios

But even if I build apm into my Linux kernel, it is not used:

  apm: BIOS version 1.2 Flags 0x07 (Driver version 1.16)
  apm: disabled - APM is not SMP safe

Can XFree86 be configured or built without that /dev/apm_bios need?

Or should I just ignore this?
