[XFree86] Re-post(sorry): Intel 82845G/GL,Redhat 7.3, XFree86, 1280x1024 support

On my new work-supplied Dell ‘Optiplex GX260’, I run Windows XP in 1280x1024 mode.

The Windows XP Device Manager says I have an Intel 82845G/GL graphics controller.

It’s dual boot w/ RedHat 7.3 with XFree86 on it.

How do I get X to run in 1280x1024 mode?

Right now, XFree86 only does 640x480; or maybe its 800x600.

When I run Xconfigurator, I don’t see Intel 82845G/GL among the choices.

When I pick ‘other card,’ I get a question about which XFree86 I want, and I don’t know how to answer that question.

How can I get X to run in 1280x1024 mode?

I’d appreciate any advice,

Mike Shannon <mshannon@xxxxxxxxxxx>
